Editorial approach
A CEO’s words are a starting point. Decisions are the test.
The CEO Corner connects first-hand leadership accounts with dated evidence, systems intelligence and the human consequences of a decision.

The decision
A chief executive’s decision can travel far beyond the office in which it is made. It can change how people work, how institutions behave, what communities depend on and which futures become possible.
The CEO Corner begins with a concrete choice. What changed? Which alternatives were considered? What constraints shaped the decision? What would the CEO do differently with the benefit of new evidence?
Strategic imagination widens the possible. Systems intelligence tests what those possibilities require in practice.
From the desk
The account from the interview is paired with the record behind the decision: relevant primary documents, dates, commitments and available results. Company material is identified as company material; independent evidence and affected perspectives are attributed separately.
- Intention: what is proposed or promised.
- Implementation: what has actually been put into operation.
- Outcome: what can be demonstrated, and over which period.
- Uncertainty: what cannot yet be established.
A statement and an outcome are different kinds of evidence. Their relationship is part of the story.
WTM systems assessment
WTM examines the incentives, dependencies and feedback beneath the account. Who decides? Who benefits? Who bears a cost? Which voices are missing from the room? What might improve one part of the system while weakening another?
We use profit, sustainability and human dignity as interacting considerations. A commercially attractive choice can still create a human or institutional cost; a well-intended initiative can still fail in its design or execution. The assessment follows the evidence.
The CEO’s words, the supporting record and WTM’s interpretation remain distinguishable. Relevant relationships are disclosed. Editorial judgement is retained by WTM.
Why These Matter
The purpose is usable understanding: a reader should leave with a clearer view of the decision, its alternatives and what to watch next.
Where an interview is published, The CEO Corner can connect its decision record to the full video and companion editorial in The WTM Conversations. That wider series includes leaders, thinkers and cultural voices beyond chief executives.
As a related starting point, Marc Blakeman’s published WTM Conversation on trust and institutions examines leadership and reputation. Blakeman is a Comcast Senior Vice President; this is a related leadership conversation, not a CEO Corner interview.
